Freedom to Vote: Protecting the Ballot

Thursday, October 16 - 7:00 p.m. at the Champaign Public Library

The program will feature a 1/2 hour film providing a brief history of the sacrifices that have been made in our nation's history to ensure equal access to the ballot and discussion of current legislative efforts that would create barriers to many low-income, elderly and disabled voters such as requiring all voters to present photo identification.  Colleen Connell, constitutional law attorney and Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois will speak and answer questions after the film.
