[ACLU-CU ALERT] Public Forum on Alternatives to Incarceration

[Champaign County ACLU Announcements]

C-U Citizens for Peace and Justice is sponsoring a public forum on alternatives to incarceration on September 21st.  ACLU steering committee member Diana Lenik will be speaking about changes in the legal system that could reduce racial disparity in sentencing or result in lower incarceration rates or reduced sentences without jeopardizing safety.

Public Forum on Alternatives to Incarceration
Friday, September 21st at 6 p.m.
Urbana City Council Chambers, 400 South Vine Street, Urbana Illinois.
Food will be provided

* Rev. Zernial Bogan of Black Chamber of Commerce,
* Diane Zell of National Alliance on Mental Illness,
* Diana Lenik of ACLU,
* A representative from the Immigration Forum and
* James Kilgore of Citizens with Conviction.
