Champaign County ACLU Announcements announce at aclu-cu.org
Thu Jun 16 10:42:11 MDT 2016

Champaign County chapters of ACLU, NAACP and the National Council of African American Men are co-sponsoring with the Champaign County Racial Justice Task Force, two community forums to hear public input about racial disparities in the criminal justice system.

Thursday, June 23 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Church of the Living God, 1106 N. Fourth Street, Champaign

Saturday, June 25 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Independent Media Center, 202 S. Broadway, Urbana

Attached is a flier about the two events. We are especially interested in hearing from African American and Latino members of the local community who wish to share their experiences with any aspect of the criminal justice system -- policing, prosecution, bail, defense, sentencing, school discipline leading to arrests, policies at the youth detention center or county jail, etc. Both events are free and open to the public.
