[ACLU-CU ALERT] DACA -- TAKE ACTION!

[Champaign County ACLU Announcements]

Champaign County ACLU is taking part in 3 actions. Please join us if you
can!

1. *MARCH OR HONK SATURDAY Feb. 3 at 11:30*

The march in support of DACA and Dreamers will be TOMORROW starting from
WCIA (on Green and Neil) to the News Gazette office (at Walnut and
Main).  People
will meet at WCIA.  People who are not walking can sit in cars along the
route and honk or get out of their cars and show signs in solidarity.  We
do not need a parade permit if we stay on the sidewalks, do not block
traffic and obey the traffic signs.

2. Delegations to Congressperson Rodney Davis's Champaign office. Faith and
community groups are sending delegations Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday to
Davis's office to insist he take action to protect the Dreamers. The
Champaign County ACLU delegation is going *Wednesday February 7 at 4 pm*.
If you want to join us, meet us in the parking lot of Davis's office on Fox

CONGRESSPERSON DAVIS!

3. *CANDLELIGHT VIGIL at the ALMA MATER statue at Wright and Green Streets.
The vigil starts at 5 pm. *

Dream Act NOW!

Every day that Congress fails to pass a clean Dream Act, 122 young
immigrants lose

their DACA and become exposed to deportation. Join with us in sending a
message

that our community stands with the Dreamers as Congress debates their fate
prior to

a February 8th deadline for keeping the federal government open.

Candlelight Vigil for the Dreamers!

Wednesday, February 7th, 5-6 PM

At the corner of Green & Wright Streets

in front of the Alma Mater

Live candles will be provided but participants are encouraged

to download the app “Virtual Candle HD” as an alternative.
