[ACLU-CU ALERT] Urbana City Council Surveillance Regulation Ordinance

Dear Friends,

*ACT NOW!* Monday night January 5th the Urbana City Council will finally
consider the ordinance to regulate surveillance technology to be acquired
and used by the city.

This ordinance gives residents of Urbana the opportunity to weigh in on
what surveillance the city acquires and how it's used. If you support guard
rails on tech surveillance companies and what they can do with our data,
please contact  Urbana City Council members and urge them to vote FOR this
ordinance or attend the meeting at 7 pm and speak.

We want to thank sponsors Grace Wilken and Jaya Kolisetty as well as
everyone on the city staff and council and both former and present mayors
who worked together to come up with a feasible ordinance that protects our
privacy and gives us a voice in these decisions. Now let's make sure it
passes!
