*DEAR ACLU FRIENDS,*

*We know you are feeling saddened and outraged. We are, too. *

*Let’s gather and put our feelings into action. *

*Join us **TOMORROW SUNDAY JANUARY 11th **to share our grief and outrage
and demand that ICE end the violence and leave our communities.*

*ICE Out for Good Justice Caravan*

Sponsored by Champaign-Urbana Resistance Effort (CURE), ACLU of Champaign
County, and Champaign County Indivisible.

CU’s local event of a nationwide protest happening this weekend.

*Sunday, Jan 11, 1:30 pm Meet at Lincoln Square (SW corner)*

Fill your car with friends and participate in a car caravan through
Urbana-Champaign to demonstrate resistance to ICE’s deadly tactics and to
support justice for Renee Good and others who have been murdered or injured
by ICE.

Additional ways to participate include cheering the caravan along the route
or meeting us at the destination point at 2:15 - 2:30 pm *(see route map
below)*.

*Starting point*: Southwest corner of Lincoln Square Mall parking lot in
Urbana. Decorating at 1:30. Caravan leaves at 2 PM.

Destination: Lowe’s parking lot, Champaign.

*What to Bring*: Decorate your car with yellow signs, yellow crepe
streamers, or yellow ribbons. You can do this on your own ahead of time,
or you can use supplies that will be provided in the Lincoln Square Mall
parking lot. In addition, we encourage you to bring your cowbells,
whistles, and other noise-making instruments to make a joyful noise as we
caravan/parade through town.

*Caravan Route*: From the Lincoln Square Mall parking lot, proceed north
on Race Street, turn left at Main Street and veer to the left onto
Springfield Avenue. Continue west on Springfield Avenue, then turn right
onto Prospect Avenue. After crossing Interstate 74, turn right at the
first traffic light (Prospect & W. Marketview Dr. intersection), then left
into the southwestern edge of the Lowe’s parking lot.

*Note*: *Drivers in the caravan will obey all traffic rules along the
route, including stop signs, traffic lights, etc. Getting separated is
inevitable. Stay safe and drive carefully, please!*

*Destination Options*: Park your car, walk to the sidewalk bordering
Prospect Ave. and display/wave your signs OR head off.

*YOUR PROTEST RIGHTS:* As long as we are on the sidewalk, we have the
right to protest. However, we do not have the right to block other people’s
access to streets, sidewalks, or businesses. This is a peaceful gathering
so do not engage with anyone who may try to start a conflict with you. This
protest has nothing to do with Lowe’s. We are just briefly parking there.
