started and already so much has gone tragically, infuriatingly wrong. From
snowy Illinois, we salute those hardy Minnesotans who, despite the frigid
cold and the danger, keep on standing up for their neighbors, keep on
resisting. You have our admiration and our thanks. Like them, we have to
keep up our determination, our resolve, and our spirits. We have to keep on
RESISTING. One thing we know – the ACLU will give its all.

Not an ACLU event but FYI: VIGIL FOR ALEX PRETTI. WED January 28 at 6 pm
along Kirby at Hessel Park.Wednesday’s peaceful vigil, sponsored by
Champaign-Urbana Resistance Effort (CURE), will include participants
standing along the sidewalk on Kirby Avenue, candles and other lights in
hand, and singing songs of peace and protest. Those unable to join the
vigil at Hessel Park are encouraged to park nearby and join us in spirit,
or to hold their own candlelight vigil at their home around the same time.
At-home participants are urged to send a photo of their vigil to CURE at
cu.resistance.effort at gmail.com. Photos submitted may be posted on the CURE
Facebook page.

Curated by Shannon Percoco and Katie Snyder, “Art of the Resistance” brings
together a broad range of artists to advocate for local change, support
marginalized communities, and to talk about their work and its role as a
form of resistance. Check out this new exhibit of art at the University
YMCA, 1001 S. Wright Street, Champaign, and join the conversation about the
role of art in turbulent times. On view January 21 - February 28    M-TH
9-9 and Friday 9-5.
