THE ILLINOIS LEGISLATURE IS IN SESSION in Springfield and ACLU-IL is
advocating for two bills. YOU CAN HELP.

Tomorrow, *Tuesday, March 24th at 2PM.*, the Illinois House Adoption and
Child Welfare Committee is set to hear House Bill 4966, the SECURE Act.
This bill is one of the ACLU of Illinois’ legislative initiatives for this
year. We are asking you to file a witness slip to *SUPPORT this critical
measure*

*HB4966: The SECURE Act*

youth under the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) care have
access to health care protected under Illinois state law even if they are
living out of state and can hold the system accountable when they are
treated in a discriminatory manner.

plate readers (ALPRs) in our state, ensures that data is not abused by law
enforcement outside our state and establishes a series of transparency
measures that allows community members across Illinois to find out how this
powerful surveillance tool is being used.
