<b>House Bill 40 </b>removes from the Illinois Criminal Code a law that's been on the books since 1975 (720 ILCS 510/1) that says if the U.S. Supreme Court ever modifies or reverses the 1973 <i>Roe v. Wade</i> decision that legalized abortion, abortion will <u>automatically</u> become
illegal in Illinois with <u>no exceptions</u> for health complications, pregnancy resulting from rape or incest or any reason other than to save the life of the pregnant woman.<o:p></o:p></p>
