[Champaign County ACLU Announcements]

The ACLU is working with the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance to create a Safe Schools Initiative for Champaign and Urbana middle and high schools.   The purpose of the initiative is to engage teachers, administrators and students in creating a safe school environment for students who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered or questioning.
 
We had a great first meeting in December and are planning to hold a public forum some time this spring.  You are invited to attend the next Safe Schools planning meeting to work on plans for the forum and outreach:
