[ACLU-CU ALERT] DACA -- what we can do

[Champaign County ACLU Announcements]

Dear ACLU members,

Let's all take action to support the young people who are legally in this
country because of DACA and urge our elected representatives to make DACA
permanent.

1. DEMONSTRATE outside Rodney Davis's Champaign office Wednesday September
20 in support of legislation to make DACA permanent. Because Wednesday at
sundown is the beginning of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, Hineni will
be blowing the ram's horn, or shofar, to get Congressman Davis's attention.

2. If you can't make it, call or write Congressman Davis and ask him to
support legislation to make DACA permanent. You can reach his staff online
at rodneydavis.house.gov OR by phone at 217.403.4690 <(217)%20403-4690> Mon
- Fri 8:30am - 5:00pm.

3. ACLU will be at the Urbana Farmers' Market Saturday Sept. 23 with
information about the rights of immigrants. Hope to see you there!

4. If you know "Dreamers" who are worried and need information, they can

lalinea at universityymca.org for updated information and times and locations
where help is available.

5. AND...SAVE THE DATE:
ACLU of Illinois Executive Director Colleen Connell will be in Champaign
for a Town Hall on November 8!
