Dear Friends,

Apologies for another mailing so soon but we need your help again -- this
time to advocate for a state bill that will improve services for children
who need foster care and have relatives able to take them in.

As we head into the last week of this year’s Veto Session, we need you to
fill out a witness slip in support of this bill. Instructions to follow are
at the end of this email.



*HB 4781* <https://www.aclu-il.org/en/legislation/kinship-demand-kind-act> –
the KIND Act – provides equitable support for kinship care and guardianship
benefits to improve outcomes for DCFS-involved youth who are in the care of
relatives. It is expected to be heard in the Illinois Senate Judiciary
Committee tomorrow, *Tuesday, November 19th, at 2:30 p.m.*  We urge you to
file a witness slip in support of the bill before the committee hearing.
