[ACLU-CU ALERT] JAN 20 March in Springfield

Champaign County ACLU Announcements announce at aclu-cu.org
Sun Jan 14 14:27:43 EST 2018

Dear ACLU members,

This Saturday, across the country, people will be marching in cities to
commemorate the historic women's march one year ago and to re-dedicate
their energies to a second year of resistance. The theme of the march is *Women
March to the Polls* and everyone, of every gender, is welcome. The ACLU is
an official sponsor and in Illinois, events are planned in Chicago,
Springfield, Peoria, and Carbondale.

Champaign County ACLU is heading to *Springfield*! Other local
action groups are, too. The event starts at the Statehouse at NOON and
marches to the Old Capitol. The weather forecast for that day is 47 and
cloudy. Not as balmy as last year, but good weather to turn out and show
the country we care.

Want to speak up for free speech? Voter rights? Women's rights? Immigration
reform? Dreamers! Police and criminal justice reform? Against racism,
gerrymandering, politicians who profit from public office?

*Make a sign!*
Tuesday Jan 16 from 5 - 7:30 we will be in the back room of Pizza M in
Urbana with poster boards and markers. Feel free to bring art supplies and
kids. Pizza is on us. RSVP at info@ aclu-cu.org.

*WILLING TO DRIVE or NEED A RIDE?*
Come to Pizza M Tuesday OR email info at aclu-cu.org. Gather your fellow
resisters and join us.
RISE UP! SHOW UP!

Spread the word!
