Subject: Legislative Resources for this session!

Dear all:

Under normal circumstances, those enrolled on our Champaign County ACLU
Announce list don't hear from us frequently. We do try to limit the number
of messages. However the current Illinois legislative session ending May
31 contains some important civil liberties legislation. This is an major
opportunity, since it is not uncommon to find that less important
legislative business gets done in an election year--next year. So please
bear with us for the next few weeks as we work to maximize the passage of
key reform laws.

ACLU ILLINOIS has created a toolkit with actions and resources for all of
the legislative initiatives our Advocacy Team is working to pass this
session. With the legislative session heating up, the ACLU of Illinois and
our partners are advocating for essential and long-overdue reforms to
remove unfair and unjust barriers to police accountability, repeal harmful
barriers to reproductive healthcare, reduce barriers to recovery,
update Illinois’
sexual health education standards, protect digital privacy within the home,
and more.

*We need your help to get these measures passed*! Please read through the
attached toolkit to learn more about these critical legislative initiatives
and how you can take action right now to help ensure they are passed.

In the toolkit, you will find information on:

· When to Take Action (pg. 1)

· Actions to Take (pg. 2)

· Quick Social Media Tips (pg. 2)

· Legislative Initiatives Overview (pg. 3-4)

· Sample Email (pg. 4-5)

· Additional Resources (pg. 5)

· Graphics (pg. 5-6)

Additionally, we encourage you to read more about the bills here
<https://www.aclu-il.org/en/news/take-action-legislation-springfield>!

Thank you in advance for taking action on all of these critical
initiatives. Please stay tuned for additional updates in the coming weeks.

In partnership,

Emmalee
